The Trade Division offers a comprehensive range of high-quality
farming requisites and services at competitive prices to producers
on a retail basis.
NWK Retail
A range of retail stores is run under the NWK Retail brand in North West and
Gauteng and elsewhere. The stores ensure one-stop convenience and offer a
wide range of products that vary from farming requisites to groceries, building
materials to hunting and outdoor life, adapted to each store’s unique market –
everything under one roof. Econobuild stores and various petrol stations also
form part of NWK Retail’s portfolio.
Midchem, the group’s agrochemicals business unit, comprises a team of
AVCASA-accredited specialists who supplement the marketing of the widest
range of products with technical service and advice, supported by years of
experience and ongoing training.
Seed
NWK provides producers with a complete range of high-quality seed from all
the well-known seed companies for virtually any crop cultivated in the area.
Strong quality requirements are adhered to in order to ensure that the seed
complies with the highest standards before it is supplied to the producer.
Plant nutrition
Fertiliser
Dry fertiliser is purchased mainly from Omnia. The marketing of plant nutrition in the form
of dry fertiliser (chemical and organic) as well as valuable scientific fertiliser advisory
services by NWK’s Omnia agency is run by the fertiliser division. These services include
the quick and accurate analysis of soil, leaf and sap samples.
Liquid fertiliser
Liquid fertiliser mixtures of an exceptionally high quality are manufactured by NWK’s plant
in Lichtenburg. All the well-known standard fertiliser mixtures, as well as more specialised
products, are produced. For producers’ convenience a tanker truck delivers the fertiliser
mixtures to the producer’s farm. In accordance with a client-oriented business philosophy,
NWK has an agreement with LDR-Precision Farming Technologies (Pty) Ltd to supply field
services. Clients of NWK Liquid Fertiliser can benefit considerably from the field service,
where experience, expertise, labour and travelling costs are provided free.
Agricultural and industrial lime
Grasland Ondernemings, a joint venture in which NWK has a 50% interest, provides a wide
range of high-quality agricultural lime and gypsum products for agricultural and industrial
application from four of its own lime sources that are located centrally.
Mechanisation
NWK’s expertise and range of mechanisation products and implements enable clients
to achieve an acceptable return in a simple yet profitable manner. Our product range
includes the following:
